About this Blog...

This blog is meant to be a testimony to God's Faithfulness & His Glory.
In Old Testament times, God's people would build altars & monuments that would serve as a reminder of all that God did for His people. Today, we have the same opportunity to pay tribute to God's lavish blessing over our lives. This blog is a modern-day version of the Old Testament monument. May all who visit here and read the things written be inspired to be grateful for the blessings in their own lives and find reason to ascribe glory & honor to Almighty God --- for His unfailing love, infinite mercy & amazing grace!

An UNdivided Heart

Today I am THANKFUL that God invites me into an interactive relationship with Him.  Grateful that He does not get tired of me asking Him to change my heart.
David pleaded with God in the Psalms....."Give me an undivided heart, that I may fear Your name." (Psalm 86:11)
A divided heart is a very dangerous thing for a Christian to have.  It disrupts your peace, steals your contentment and sabotage's your devotion to God.  Even worse, I find that it causes my heart & mind to do battle....my heart attempts to override what I know to be true with feelings that are contaminated by allegiances to counterfeits.  Thankfully, God is patient with me and mercifully covers me with His grace when I find myself struggling to maintain a heart that is fixed on Him.  The Christmas season often proves to be full of opportunities to have a divided heart....offering an array of alternative focusses for us to be preoccupied with.  We must be deliberate about engaging our hearts heavenward and not on the temporary things of earth that can, so easily, entangle us.  David had it right when he prayed fervently for an undivided heart....maybe that's one of the reasons he was a man after God's own heart?
Lord, give me a heart that is unwavering and steadfastly focussed on You alone.  May I be wholeheartedly attentive to You today.
